ABQ BioPark - Botanic Garden

"This is one of my favorite botanical gardens in the US, it’s cute and unique. The river of lights show was great! It’s only $15 a person on value nights, or $21 a person on general admission nights. Parking at the garden (or zoo if garden lot is full) is free. You can ignore any review saying otherwise. We spent 2 hours there and it was great! One of the most unique Christmas lights displays I’ve ever seen and far better than Austin’s trail of lights. It does get more crowded the later you go, so go early or on a weekday (plus these are cheaper value nights anyway)."

"I definitely recommend bundling your tickets for both the Aquarium and the Botanical Garden, it’s worth it! The Aquarium is beautiful, with a great variety of sea animals and well-designed exhibits that are fun for both kids and adults. The Botanical Garden is just as stunning, full of colorful flowers, different plants, and peaceful walking paths that make it easy to spend a few relaxing hours exploring. Both places are well-kept and offer a nice balance of nature and discovery. A great spot to visit in Albuquerque!"

"The ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden was gorgeous and a wonderful place to explore. The gardens were beautifully maintained and also had some fun, kid-friendly features like a slide and themed garden areas. My kids especially loved the farm area, where they could see farm animals, and the nest that overlooks the horses was a really neat touch. If you’re visiting from out of state, I highly recommend getting the combo ticket with the zoo, as it makes the cost more than worth it and adds a lot to the overall experience."

"This is a neat garden area to explore, although I wish we would have been able to visit in the spring. The part of AZ we live in our plants tend to look the same in the winter, and since NM has a similar landscape, I didn't even think about most of the plants here freezing over so most of the gardens appeared "dead". The insect areas were also closed for winter, so it would be nice if there was a "Winter discount" to reflect only really being able to see a quarter of what you normally would. Most of the Japanese garden was still looking green & we think they did an amazing job with that area. There is a large pond with koi fish & ducks, along with a waterfall and a observation deck you can walk out onto. You'll also find a few pathways among the plants that lead to different trails & beautiful photo opportunities. I would definitely say that this area of the gardens was our favorite. They also have three different indoor areas where all the plants were fully alive & thriving. There were several neat looking plants I had never seen before that I am going to look into adding to my home. Hopefully in the future we can come back when the rest of the gardens is in bloom to see the full beauty of the gardens."
