Bottomless Lakes State Park

"Bottomless Lakes State Park is a beautiful and unique spot for a quick hike and a scenic drive. The landscape is striking, and it’s a great place to stretch your pants and enjoy the fresh air. The highlight of our visit was the Visitor Center. The Park Ranger was incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to share local insights and answer all our questions with genuine enthusiasm. Having such a helpful and knowledgeable person on-site really enhanced the whole experience. Definitely worth the stop!"

"My family and I had a wonderful time camping here! We stayed in a tent at the campground and really enjoyed how spacious it was. We booked a site with electric and water hookups, plus our spot included a picnic table and some nice shade. The restroom and shower facilities were clean and the showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water, which was soothing after a long day outdoors. During our stay, the campground was peaceful, with everyone keeping to themselves and no noisy campers around. The only odd thing was that someone (likely a park employee) decided to use a leaf blower at 5am, circling the park and waking everyone up. That was definitely unexpected! Other than that, the park itself is absolutely beautiful and full of scenic trails, rocky canyons, and great photo opportunities for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. The lakes are clear and refreshing, with designated swimming areas. We also saw park rangers making their rounds, keeping everything in check, which made us feel safe. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend visiting or camping here, especially in the Fall season."

"WOW! One of my favorite campgrounds I've ever stayed at. HUGE pull through campsites that couldve fit two long bed trucks and our 40 ft fifth wheel with covered patio/picnic tables and a view from the back of our rig of the lake itself. Unbelievable sunsets and sunrises, a lovely walking trail, very sweet and accomodating camp hosts, and you feel completely secluded in the wildlife around you. I only wish we could've stayed longer!"

"Exceeded all my expectations. The rangers at the visitor center were very friendly and gave us good information and the small museum / information area over there was very helpful in understanding the history and geology of the area. The pools were fantastic and were very easily accessible. We did a day trip, but would love to camp here someday. You need to get a 10$ day pass either with cash or online (QR code available at site)."

"Great park, fantastic camp hosts. We ere greeted by Will, the camp host. He was so enthusiastic and friendly, we felt so welcomed! Will and his wife Jodi are rock hounds and shared their passion with us. We, too, are rock hounds so we hit it off right away. We found lots of Pecos Diamonds in the BLM property near by. They are knowledgeable about the area and have fun stories to tell of their experiences here. The campground is clean, quiet and handy to Roswell. The bath house is clean. The sites for the most part are spacious. We had site 7 and it had full hookups. We had a view of the lake and our site was on the corner so we had a lot of space. The picnic tables are sheltered. Our site did not have shade. We were here in January so that wasn’t a problem for us. We enjoyed exploring the area via the well maintained trails. There is a public area with a beach, shelters, bathrooms, playgrounds, volleyball courts, etc. it was closed during our stay. We would definitely stay again."
