4 months ago"This was a great tour with a neat gift shop. The lady at the gift shop was so friendly and she showed my kids different items and gave them a fun learning experience. The tour guide of the house was fun and energetic. It can be a challenge to entertain small kid's and she did well. Answered every question, made it a fun experience and allowed them to express themselves."

5 months ago"It’s so easy to zoom by this historical treasure. But don’t! Slow down. Stop! To enjoy this extremely well done visitor center which will certainly leave you knowing more than what you did about this area, Charles and Mary Goodnight, the plight and rescue of the buffalo and more! The docents are extremely knowledgeable. There are three tours daily to see inside the ranch home. Heartily recommend!"

2 months ago"I visit here often while traveling for work, and take a breather in the prairie. Incredible history right off the highway. Historic home of a pioneer couple that left their mark saving a remnant bison herd. Well managed property and conscious of conserving the natural and cultural resources. Peaceful and impactful for the era it honors."

a year ago"Visited 8/2/24 on a Friday afternoon. Worth the visit!! Very interesting tour. NOTE- VISITORS CENTER WHERE YOU BUY TICKETS IS NOW RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE GREEN METAL BUILDING THAT USED TO BE A HARDWARE STORE! Free gravel parking at the new visitor center and level paved parking at the old visitor center. The bison that are descended from the ones Mrs Goodnight saved are in the pasture beside the new visitor center. Tours are at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 only. The tour is so interesting and the house well preserved. *Not recommended for those with disabilities*-There are stairs to get into the house and steep stairs to climb in the house on the tour. The grounds are well kept and easy to walk around. After the tour, you can easily visit the Goodnight’s graves across the highway in Goodnight cemetery where the views are endless. Highly recommend doing both."

a year ago"We stopped here for about 90 minutes to break up a drive from DFW to the Oklahoma panhandle. Everyone in my family (2 adults and 2 boys (8 and 12)) loved the tour and history. Such a great part of TX and western history and everything is so well preserved and recreated. I would highly recommend."
