Chicago Fed Money Museum

"Upon entering there will be an officer there who will check your ID so make sure to have it on you. Bags will also go through screening and you’d walk through a metal detector when entering. I love my experience here learned so much about how money works and circulate in the real world. You’d also be able to tell the difference between real money and fake money during your visit. It’s a free gem in Chicago and I recommend you all to check it out."

"My father collects coins, so I visited the museum. I was hoping I could buy some of the money in circulation in capsules (mint-bright). But unfortunately not. Nevertheless, I'm glad there's a museum like this. It's free, I recommend it to everyone."

"This is a small, hidden gem museum. Security checkpoints are required for entry. It's open Monday through Friday only. No tickets required. The museum offers a history and educational tour of currency, including many interactive activities, which the children enjoyed."

"I greatly appreciate that the federal reserve Bank of Chicago has a museum that is open to the public. I live in Minneapolis, and the federal reserve Bank of Minneapolis does not have a public museum. Instead, they have tours from time to time. So Chicago is doing very well! There were a lot of tourist and international visitors. I found the exhibits to be approachable yet very interesting and informative. I liked learning about the military currency, which are used instead us dollars for abroad before 1970. I found all this to be fascinating but not necessarily a very long stay. I would recommend planning to stay here about 30 minutes to an hour. The museum itself is maybe less than 2000 square feet."
