Claremore Lake

"This is a beautiful lake with plenty of fish in it. There are picnic tables throughout the park. Grills in areas. Playground. Splash pad. Walking trail. Docs that you can fish from. And plenty of spots for you to be close to the water and have your family time in peace and quiet."

"Over the course of a decade I have fallen in love with this little slice of heaven. It is one of my favorite places in Oklahoma. The city of Claremore has not always impressed me with the quality of their projects, but in this case, they knocked it out of the park, pun intended. The design, the layout, the amenities are bursting with evidence of smart choices, as are many parks today, but then the execution of the construction and the maintenance that continues daily make this municipal feature one of the few areas where the phrase "your tax dollars at work" actually feels like the taxpayers got a "Fire sale door busters Dad'll do it" class of bargain. Shout out to Kristin Glover for the slogan, and shout out to the city for keeping it fee free, because yeah, I'll stop here I don't want to give anybody any ideas. To me, this place is a great example of why this part of Oklahoma has the nickname "Green Country". It's not because of all the dispensaries, although they abound, it's an outstanding place to take your kids to play outdoors, to catch some crappie, see a huge variety of waterfowl, have a picnic for two (or maybe even two thousand if you're so inclined), take a long walk, make your dog's day, or just meditate next to a serene blue lake that allows boating and fishing but no swimming. Wait. No swimming? Yes. No swimming. When I first learned that rule it was kind of a downer for me because I love to swim. But there's so much to love about this park that I've modified my stance on that policy. Today I support it 100 percent. Especially when considering the lake is the source of drinking water for the city and has only ever been home to a single alligator over 5 feet long that we know of Stay free y'all."

"It is scenic and quite lovely. There are several parks for kids to play on around the lake. A dock to fish from as well. The donkeys were on the other side of the lake. They were cute to look at if you'd like to say "hi" from the fence. Don't pet, just look, they are on private property."

"This was my first visit to Claremore lake park, and the first of many to come. The lake is absolutely beautiful and there's no many beautiful spots to sit by it. Boats, kayaks, and many beautiful birds to enjoy. There's a splash pad and plenty of places to play. Tables and space to grill out are plentiful as well. This makes me love living in Claremore even more."

"Enjoyed fishing here. It has new rocks on the dam. It has 2 uncovered fishing docks and a covered fishing dock you can fish at for a fee. There are many places to fish and some nice trails. There is a splash pad."
