Coyote Creek State Park

"The drive was great. Beautiful. The campgrounds and bathrooms were clean. Camp host was very informative. In the evening the grounds were patrolled by Park rangers. Trails, and a creek near by. Surrounded by beauty. Recommend!!"

"We really enjoy camping at Coyote Creek. Warm, clean showers. Courteous, friendly staff. Great stars, birding and wildflowers. My wife likes it better than Yellowstone, but i enjoy seeing the bears."

"Beautiful area. Nice trail about 3/4-1 mile long. One side, side closer to the group shelter, starts off a bit steeper than the other side. Elevation is about a 200+ gain. There is a little park. Grounds are maintained very well. Area is clean. There are vault toilets located throughout the park. The main bathroom is clean, but only has 1 shower. Never really seemed busy though. The campground host was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Was very dog-friendly. Definitely plan on staying again. One negative is how close the electric sites are to each other and you share a water spigot. Water pressure in RV wasn't the greatest, but the water pressure in the shower at the main bathroom was good."

"This was my third visit. Great location to take the kids. The creek and ponds are very close to the campsites. The fishing isn't great, but the kids enjoyed trying. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly for our group at the River Group Shelter. The group site has sodium lights that can stay on all night in the shelter. There are power outlets in the shelter, a water spigot nearby, as well as vault toilets. The only thing not functional was the bear box. There is a foot bridge to cross the creek, and vehicles have to ford a 10 foot wide and 1 foot section of the creek. There is also a trail that heads up the hill then heads towards the upper section of the camp to the east."

"Has a bit of a golf course vibe Only 6 FCFS sites and none of them have shade trees or shelters. So I highly recommend getting a reservation. Be sure to print it or at least photograph your confirmation. You can also reserve it on-site entire park is very very clean (even the fire pits!) and well taken care of. Has water, electricity, vault toilets, and flush toilets & shower in main building where ranger has an office The creek now in Sept after a lot of rain seems mostly overgrown with brush. except at crossings no campsites on the creek itself. Great trail up the east mountain side and across through pines and aspens back down to the creek and campground. No map or distance stated on trail, but it took me about 1 hr hiking, pausing, and strolling to cover the entire loop. Dog friendly if kept on leash."
