Doling Park

"This is a beautiful park in Springfield. It's a little hidden gem. There are playgrounds, picnic tables, BBQ grills & shelters. There's horseshoe pits but bring your own horseshoes! There's a pickleball court. I saw two caves but didn't go into them. Also there is a spring and pond. The trails to walk are nice. There's a museum about the history of the park. On the property there is a senior center and a family Rec. center. Also it is very pleasing to the eye. I had an over all restful experience there. But don't just take my word for it, come check it out for yourselves!"

"Beautiful place. I’ve been here since I was very little and it hasn’t changed much. I do wish there were more access to bathrooms but I understand why they’re closed in the fall/winter but give us a porta potty maybe then. The pond defiantly needs more foliage and brush as it looks so bare but it’s also almost winter. The Bald Cypress trees are gorgeous this time of year."

"We love Doling. It is always pretty chill, nice for a little walk. The kids like the play equipment and walking the back trail. Lots of fossils and old rock walls and such. It's also right next to the Doling Fitness Center, which we sometimes use. My only complaint is that it's clear that this park is given less love (and more grief) because of where it is in town. But that's understandable, I suppose. It's our favorite North Springfield park for sure."

"Has a very nice pond with geese on it. Have some food ready if you want some action 🤪. Great for a time with kids. Has a decent size playground. Take great photos for memories next to caves and waterfall. Especially nice after a rain."

"This park is another place I grew up coming to on school field trips and birthday parties for friends. Its a little older so some of the equipment could use an update but it doesn't take away from the fun. There's even a cave on site, you can't go in, but there is an entrance with the history behind the cave and park engraved in a stone slab. Oh and of course there's walking trails! Bring the kids an pups and have a picnic and go for a stroll! Another great spot that I've gotten to share with my own kids ."
