"Amazing, beautiful place, a must visit for plans to see all there is in north western New Mexico. The architect who designed this building deserves an award. It's stunning. There is so much great information here and so displayed, written and organized. The staff was really helpful. Families with young children will find much room for antsy offspring to move without bumping into things. The restrooms were great."

"We stayed nearby on our travel day so popped over to the visitor center before they opened. Fifteen minutes early they opened the gate to go to work. We took pictures outside and went a little up their trails to take pictures of the amazing view and some volcanic rocks. We entered the center as they opened. Lots of information and a free map of the site. Early is better as the heat rises all day. We were very comfortable. We even got to see the park ranger raise the flag for the day."

"This place is absolutely worth the stop if you’re exploring northwestern New Mexico. The building itself is awesome looking! It’s clear a lot of thought went into both the structure and the layout. The information throughout is exceptionally well presented, clearly written, and easy to follow. Everything feels intentional and thoughtfully organized, making it enjoyable to explore rather than overwhelming. The staff was friendly and genuinely helpful/ She gave me multiple maps and papers on things to do in New Mexico. It’s also very family-friendly. My kids enjoyed being able to split off and stretch their legs and get some steps in. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, it’s an impressive and enriching visit."
