a month ago"Stand in front of this sculpture and be amazed. It was unveiled in 1974 and created by Alexander Calder. There are other examples of public art up and down Dearborn that I encourage you to explore. Picasso, Miro, and Chagall. All of it harkens back to a time when our government valued the communal message of great art."

6 months ago"A really nice spot in the Loop to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. There are several marble benches that make it easy to sit down, relax, and even meet up with friends. The sculpture here is fun and eye-catching, and if you take a closer look, there’s a plaque on the south side that shares a bit of history and background about it, which adds to the experience. What’s interesting is that you’ll find several of these statues spread throughout the Loop, almost like a small outdoor gallery. They bring some character and variety to an area that might otherwise feel dominated by tall, plain high-rises. It’s a good mix of art, history, and a comfortable place to pause in the middle of the busy city."

4 months ago"Its weird that ive been to three iconic spots in Chicago and no one was there taking photos. I guess everyones at The Bean structure. I love this structure. It is unique and really attracts attention. Looks like an alien. I looked weird taking selfies coz im the only one but im not complaining. Just a honeless and aome skater boys in the area but it’s a quiet space."

2 years ago"Not only is this a great spot to take a touristic picture-- it's a great meeting place! Also, if it's a nice afternoon, I recommend meeting people here to sit down, take pictures and have lunch. There are several marble benches that makes it a nice place to get together and just hangout, while admiring the fun sculpture. There is a plaque on the south side of the statue with some information and history behind it."

3 years ago"It's a nice art piece. If you're meeting someone, this statue is in a clean plaza and it's hard to miss this giant thing. There are lots of tourists though, because it's a tourist attraction. You should visit it if you're in Chicago."
