You're not going to take a wheelchair or walker up, if you walk with a cane like I do I highly recommend trekking poles. Take your time and make sure you have water, if you're into native American history, it's well worth the time and effort."

We started at the visitor center and then took a one-mile trail to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The scenery along the way was beautiful and peaceful. Ranger Travis gave an informative introduction at the caves, and we learned a lot from his insights. All the staffs we encountered were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable."

There are a lot of steps and a few hundred feet elevation gain to get to the dwellings. Beautiful walk, nice views, educational experience. It's about a one mile loop hike. We saw some javelina just before the parking lot."

Ranger station even has walking sticks for short hike. We saw a coyote, mule deer and a roadrunner on the drive. O and a havalina running for its life as a few dogs were chasing it 😞"
