"Har-Ber Village Museum is great and I do recommend visiting it whether you're a local or tourist. However, did you know they have a nature trail, and its free to explore?! We visit it regularly. It is a great place to get outdoors and to go for a little stoll. There are two-miles of trails, some paved, which are handicap accessible and others that are non-paved. As birders, this, is also a great spot to sit along the lakeside and watch as the birds fly by. Sometimes, you may even catch a pelican or crane swoop down after a fish. UPDATE March 2026: We recently visited the Har-Ber Village Museum during opening weekend. We were volunteers in the Nature Center Cabin for the Friend's of Grandlake Audubon Society. I cannot express enough what a privilege it is to volunteer at such a great facility. Sadly, the day we went, it was the morning after a lot of Oklahoma storms and the weather was still not looking its best. But even through the dreary weather, it was still a great time! The facilitators are friendly, the other volunteers who are in the other cabins or workshops are great to talk to and visit with. The grounds are very well kept. It is absolutely beautiful walking through the town square and overlooking Grand Lake. I love to see the bell and the working water wheel. They recently made some updates to a couple cabins so be sure to check it all out! Overall, the Har-ber Village Museum is an excellent outting for the whole family. There is soo much knowledge and resources of information around every corner you turn. I highly reccomend visiting the nature center and letting the kids do a little scavenger hunt. Oh and keep you eyes peeled, on the drive in or out, you may even get an up close look at some wildlife-- we seen some deer."

"20241005 Wow! This Village Museum is amazing, the best one ever. It has a huge collection of items to include dolls, boy scout, girl scout, military, spoons, marbles as well as furniture, equipment, and so much more. My favorite are the church, courthouse and Jail. The jail cell is perfect for psychopaths. 🤣 There is so much to see. Because it was so hot when we were there and too hot for my pups, I didn't see everything and still spent 1.5 hours. I can easily spend an entire day there or longer. This village is very dogfriendly. The gift shop is small. The lady knew the woman who made the Angels that I bought all to give to my Christian friends. 🙏✝️🙏"

"I brought a group of 22 for a day trip from Van Buren, AR. We spent 2 hrs 45 min walking the grounds and seeing the displays. Most of the group were made up of senior citizens. Many comments were made about how beautiful the setting was beside Grand Lake. Also, how well kept the grounds were and how extensive the displays were. Everyone enjoyed visiting Har-Ber Museum."
