"If you’re a fan of mining history or just love fascinating curiosities, the Joplin Mining Museum is an absolute must-see! This little gem is packed with incredible artifacts and rich stories from the region’s mining past. The mineral collection alone is breathtaking, beautifully displayed and truly a highlight of the museum. The museum isn’t just about mining. There are exhibits on Jesse James, prohibition era, fashion, Sports, automobiles, and even a cookie cutter museum. No matter your interests, there’s something here to capture your curiosity. The museum director was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss this fascinating spot, it’s a true treasure trove of history."

"For $5 a person, it’s very worth it! Lots of cool stuff and they even had a display about the tornado in 2011."

"This place was very informative. They have very cool displays on Mining Minerals, also what is use in some of the products we use in our daily life, as well as interactive kiosks. Lots of Era displays like Bonnie and Clyde to name a few. Admission was $4.00 it was well worth the price. I would recommend not missing this one."

"I had the privilege of visiting the museum in honor of my grandfather, Foster Rosenberry. I was pleasantly surprised by the museum's size and the extensive collection of historical artifacts, rocks, and minerals. It was a delight to meet Marv, who had worked with my grandfather in the mid-1960s. After my grandfather's passing in 1983, his collection was sold to Mr. Hempen, who generously donated it to the museum years later. I highly recommend a visit to the museum. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I believe everyone would find something of interest. Additionally, when we visited, the museum was hosting a special event with various vendors participating in the show."

"Unexpectedly impressive museum on mining and minerals. Great local specimen collection and tons of history on mining and minerals in the area including a scaled mining operation upstairs. The museum also includes a unique collection of local history (with plenty of kitsch too). Staff was helpful and friendly - I'd highly recommend this museum."
