She also drove it in the Parade Of Power both days. Then she drove it 12 miles to Nilwood a week later for the 20 mile tractor drive. All on bad tires. That is faith in her machine. I personally enjoyed the sawmill but the broom maker was awesome too. And the blacksmith shop is so authentic. Even to the real back country church on the grounds that held service on Sunday and Hymn Sings both days. It was just a perfect show. I hope to attend the Fall Festival later on."

The house is typically only open in Wednesdays from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. The amount of restoration effort that has been invested in this historical house is evident. Though at one time, most all original items had been taken or vandalized, extreme care over the years has been invested to represent it as it may have been in the past. The house is expansive, so the ongoing effort to keep it in good repair obviously requires a lot of dedication in the part of those in the community who have worked to save it. I am sure that the special events held seasonally at the site would be not only great fun, but also educational."
