"I decided to take the historic part of Route 66 through McLean, TX. I knew there was one museum. On my way to it I passed what looked like an old downtown so I doubled back and found this quaint, well detailed museum. Definitely worth checking out. They have quite a lot of info on what used to be a POW camp in the area."

"Very nice place, if you could either go here or the devil's rope museum, go here. This place feels more home-y if that makes sense, as well as it has some cool historic pieces and even clothing from the 1800s onward with the names of the people that wore the clothing. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. They were even nice enough to give us copies of the history of the house we just moved into."

"So my 89 year old mother and I are completing some of her bucket list items. Although this museum was not one of them it was well worth the stop! Unfortunately we did not ask the name of the real life historian, she provided a grand tour of the museum and real life personal history! Awesome preservation! And presentation. Forgot to see the fictional book written about a couple in the area....but I think I may have read it...."

"I was shown around the museum and regailed with wonderful local historical color from the AMAZING Lady who runs the museum, who happens to be the granddaughter of one of the original town founders! I had a marvelous time, and could easily have spent much more time there. I would absolutely recommend anyone to go to this charming treasure trove of the history of McLean, Texas and the surrounding area. (BTW the town Founder was born in England, founded a town in Texas, and then died on the TITANIC!)"

"Another cool stop on Route 66 well worth the entrance fee of $0 as they run on donations be sure to put a few few dollars and the donation jar to keep the route history alive. Interesting history McLean Built This Town so the railroad would come through it, visit the museum to learn the rest of the history and be sure to visit the Museum of barbed wire a few blocks away in the same town"
