Pythian Castle

"Our guide Annette (I think?) was terrific. She was animated but not in a fake way. You could tell she knew the castle and it's history through and through. I've been on a few ghost tours. I didn't really have any expectations for this one. It was just something to do. However, I had a blast and it was largely due to the guide! The tour lasted about about 1.5 hours. It didn't feel that long. I was never bored. The castle used to be a holding place for WW2 prisoners of war. (Yes, I know. It sounds weird, but it's true!) We went in one of the prisoner's rooms where she used a dowsing rods to speak to the spirit, which I know is pseudo-science. Who cares, when you're having a good time!"

"We had a great time on the ghost tour last night. Our guide was incredibly enthusiastic about the castle and all the ghost stories, which made the whole experience even more entertaining. She really brought the history and legends to life for everyone in the group. It was especially heartwarming to see the extra attention she gave to the little birthday girl in our group. You could tell she wanted to make it a memorable night for her, and she absolutely succeeded. That’s an experience she’ll never forget. "Had the pleasure of getting the opportunity to go on their ghost tour. The guide was fantastic! He was full of charisma, very knowledgeable about the history and encompassed both the history of the castle from all aspects of natural and supernatural. His beliefs are magnetic and he truly pulls you into a world in which anything is possible. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend anyone who loves history or has a fascination with the idea that there is something after death go. I honestly feel more connected to those who came before us after this and I find that comforting."

"Did the ghost tour here, honestly, it is amazing. The castle was very ascetic, there was a lot to see, and on the night I went with my friends, Hammons Field sent up some fireworks so it was beautiful. One thing to note, this is a ghost tour, not an ‘explore at your own pace’ there is a tour guide who’s job is to explain history, different ghosts, and ensure that we finish a tour on time. So just go into this experience knowing that"

"Cool looking place. Did the ghost tour. If you are someone with mobility issues or claustrophobic this is not the tour for you. Place is very cold in the winter too. Host was very nice and answered questions well."
