Redbud Valley Nature Preserve

"Mary was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable! You can tell that she truly enjoys what she does and cares about the preserve. The area was beautiful! The limestone cliff faces were incredible, and the Prarie Trail had some gorgeous overlooks! The Bluff Trail allows you to climb up through the rocky terrain and have some wonderful views! I'm definitely coming back!"

"Unique place. Would never expect something like this just out side of town near the port. The pros: the bluff trail is beautiful and a must see. If you like a challenging but short hike, this is perfect. There is a level and easy stretch of boardwalk trail near the lake for those who want that. The main and woodland trails bring you through a variety of landscapes and are not too difficult once you get on top of the hill. The cons: the road to get there is kind of rough and narrow. Prepare to hike with constant trip hazards of rocks and roots and lots of clay on the bluff trail. The upper trails have rocks in the trail but can also be pretty level."

"This place has good hiking for all skill levels. I'm a larger guy and didn't find any of it to difficult. Some mild climbing or large steps. Bring the whole family. Very well maintained. Very beautiful areas to explore. Bring and picnic basket and drinks and make a day out of it. They have public restrooms at the trail head."

"A great way to spend an afternoon- fall colors are at their peak, walking trail with a little variety. Flat land then slight incline, bluff, ponds, cactus, cave. Grab a map, restrooms, a few picnic tables, visitor center. Closes at 5pm Limited parking lot Friendly volunteers Family fun- so close to town."

"I thought the trail was easy to hike. It had some intriguing rock patters to look at along the trail as well. I only wish there were some more scenic views of the creek that cuts in. Other than that, I enjoyed it quite a bit and would recommend it to anyone looking for an outdoor adventure with their friends or family."
