The Huntington Japanese Garden

"Absolutely picture perfect for any day or any occasion. Just be sure to reserve in advance, even if you have a yearly membership. Sometimes, it does get packed!! Be sure to wear good walking shoes, bring bottled water, sun hat or sunbrella. They check your bags as you enter, so leave extra items in your car. I wish they opened up the japanese tea room for tea, that would be an experience. But to try tea, i recommend the Tea room, it's a fun place to have light lunch with tea sandwiches and choice of tea, I recommend the Huntington blend because it's a special blend you won't find elsewhere."

"It's such a beautiful place and very authentic. We just got back from Japan where we visited several Japanese gardens and this one is true to the real thing. We love the beautiful Bamboo forest, the carefully crafted bonzai trees and the lakes and streams with the beautiful bridges. There is also a very authentic Japanese tea house with tatami mats. This is a beautiful place."

"The very beautiful place! I love it very much. The good museum, the beautiful Chinese and Japanese gardens, the big rose garden and another botanical gardens. The good tea cafe. There's a tea restaurant but it was too expensive for me: near $60 per person. And unexpectedly nice souvenir store! Not cheap but all are very good and something even are elegant! I recommend to have enough time for this store when you visit this place. They changed an exposition and I like to visit it every time."

"An amazing Japanese garden that unexpectedly opens up before you as you walk from the rose garden — I think it’s the best entrance to take. The atmosphere of a traditional Japanese garden is captured with remarkable precision. The miniature trees, and even tiny forests, are especially captivating — an unforgettable experience! "Honestly soooo much to see it can be over whelming. 2 things --> art galleries and gardens. If you are good on your feet/healthy and start early you can probably do it all. Im a plant lover but also had some family that are not able to be on their feet all day so we chose to do just the gardens. Even then we were not able to do each garden to completion and did not see all of them before family became tired. I will have to come back one day alone and make my way through it all. Highly recomend. LOVED the jungle and chinese gardens. P.S. EBT car holders is only $3 and can get up to 3 tickets at that price per a card!"
