3 months ago"Many rooms on many floors and amazing artifacts in every one. Cowboy hats and saddles and photos, barbed wire, railroad items, Indian artifacts, dresses and hats from another (more refined?) era, tributes to local citizens lost in World Wars, vintage typewriters, and chuckwagons and a buckboard... Our visit was too short. Note their enlarged photos that show a busy, bustling town before the passenger trains and the Interstate left it behind."

a year ago"While on a Route 66 roadtrip we stumbled upon this adorable town on rawhide days! We had a wonderful time exploring the town and spent some time watching the parade (sad we didn’t get to experience the longhorn marching through town) and the festival."

3 months ago"Very friendly docent and lots of stuff BUT totally disorganized. Very dated because no coherent story is told. Just a confusing collection of dusty objects. Don’t get me wrong - this would be fascinating for a local resident to rummage through - looking for antique postcards from relatives but modern museum displays have evolved away from piles of junk. Needs a radical overhaul - put most of the items in archived storage for research and select a few standout objects to describe the history of the town."

2 months ago"Unfortunately we were in the area on a day it was closed; we have the worst luck on what is open and when. Maybe next time. So we snapped some photos and continued on our way. We made the block and noticed a jet fighter, a caboose, and anti-aircraft gun. We'll have to make a note to stop by here on a future trip which is not a Monday."
