"Beautiful 😍 place! Came early August and saw sooo many monarch butterflies!! Cool dog park right there too. I didn't see any bathrooms though. There is a picnic area covered and a dock to take a paddle board or kayak out. Nice easy walking path."

"Beautiful neat trail with 2 island where you can do your own kayaking or rent right by the island. The inner circle I believe is 1.4 mile, However it’s more bigger then that yet to be explored. I enjoyed the sunset view and the walk. It also has a BBQ place so great for having family picnic or small get together. Good for rollerblades as well Washroom & water are also on the site Luv it !!!"

"Whalon Lake is such a great hidden gem. I grew up in Bolingbrook and never knew about this, until after graduating college. It is well maintained and patrolled by police for safety purposes. You can go on trails to walk, run, or ride your bike, as well as rent canoes, if you have dogs there is a dog park, and picnic tables for gatherings with friends and or family. This is such a beautiful place, especially during the warmer months. Highly recommend rounding your family up and going."

"This was our second trip to Whalen Lake. It is a small park but has a paved path around the lake, a dog park, sea wall, a pavillion, and kayak rental. We walked the path around the lake. It is an easy 1.8 mile walk (level and paved) but no shade. You can rent kayaks (single and tandum) that are good for beginners. People fish on the sea wall, and the dog park is popular."
