World Bird Sanctuary

"This is one of my new favorite places. I loved the way they have this sanctuary set up. The enclosures are quite large with plenty of room for the birds to be happy in. Being able to learn so much about different birds during the program was quite amazing. We were able to see a free flying event after our handling event. It was even better than I had imagined. The young lady (Kenzie I believe was her name.) that assisted us was extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all of the things that we could think of to ask. I highly recommend making this a must see."

"A wonderful place to visit, especially when the weather is nice! The World Bird Sanctuary has so many stunning birds and it’s clear they do great work caring for and rehabilitating them. The playground is perfect for kids, and the bathrooms are very clean, a big plus for families. Highly recommend spending a time here. Other options nearby, such as the bison drive nearby."

"Amazing. The woman at the entrance gate set the best tone for our visit. She was so helpful and full of kindness. Then we met the main attractions…. All appeared to be cared for and everything was clean. We signed up have interaction with an owl and it was just perfect. The ladies were so informative and you could really tell that they love their jobs. This entire experience was just great."

"I visited the world bird sanctuary. Probably about fifteen eighteen years ago.And really enjoyed it. I had the opportunity to enjoy it again. It is so peaceful to walk through and see all of the different birds that they have.. the area had changed quite a bit to where they have added more habitats and enlarge them.And it looks like they are still adding on. I ended up having to use my cellphone to take photos usually in this situation.I would use my bigger camera.But had battery issues with it."

"An absolutely wonderful organization. I learned so much about birds of prey while visiting. I paid the extra to have the hold a raptor experience and it was so worth it. I got to hold the beautiful female owl named Buzz. She was so pretty and so chill just sitting there while the employee and I chatted. The sanctuary has several birds that people can walk around and see. All of these birds are disabled and unable to be released back to the wild. My daughter's favorite was a snow owl named Crystal. She is nearly blind so can't be released and will live out her days being spoiled at the sanctuary. What you cannot see here is the 800+ birds a year that they rehabilitate and heal and release back to the wild. Because these birds will be released they are kept away from humans as much as possible to keep down their stress levels while they heal. The sanctuary also breeds birds to help repopulate species that are endangered and they breed ambassador birds that they also send to zoos around the country. The work they do here is amazing. I highly recommend going here if you will be in the area. The staff are all so friendly and very knowledgeable."
