The taxes and fees added an additional $70 to the advertised price of $133 per night! Rather than fall for that trap, I kept searching and found this hotel. The advertised price was reasonable and the only additional charges were around $10 for taxes. Perfectly reasonable. The hotel is beautiful and a bit quirky in all good ways. Accent touches like antique accent furniture in the hallway, chandeliers, and real tablecloths at breakfast make it feel like a grand hotel from yesteryear. Yes, the carpet is a little worn, but the rooms and pool are super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom feels luxurious. There are many places to eat within a mile of the parking lot. The staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. If you want sleek, modern perfection go ahead and pay twice as much. If you appreciate great value, transparent pricing, charm, and a taste of old fashioned grandeur, you can’t go wrong here."

The bed was very soft and comfortable, and those pillows were like fluffy clouds! There were a couple repairs that needed to be made to the room. However, they didn't effect my stay, just the appearance of the room. Our only real complaint was the TV kept doing something where you would have to restart it to change the channel. That was a pain, hence the 4 stars on the room. The staff I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. The location is close to food and a store. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Bloomington."

I was there for a conference a couple months ago and afterwards there was karaoke too! The longer I stayed the more fun it was. Except for a poor woman that was trying to defend her sister and warn all the women that the Karaoke DJ was giving out STD’s as karaoke party favors wherever he went??? So besides the entertainment…..definitely a nice experience at the Chateau hotel."
