"In the Doubletree Chicago Midway for business over the weekend. My first impression was extremely positive. An area next door to Midway Airport with all the hotels and restaurants you could need. Easy to drive to and ample parking (free hotel shuttle for travelors), this Doubletree made me happy. Greeting the registration lady, she was well versed and just a joy to work with. She helped me locate the seminar room and further helped me by Googling information related to the seminar. Top that off with a fresh baked cookie and I’m a happy client. While reserving the room, I was satisfied the cost of $140 per night was reasonable for the area. After booking two (2) nights I discovered the taxes and fees assessed by Chicago and Cook County exceeded 57%! Travel to this area and get an excessive bill not from the hotel, but the government! Total for the trip was $440."
