"I am so glad I made the decision to stop at this motel. I was driving from California to Arkansas. I have a chronic illness and I had a 17 year old cat with me, by the time I got through New Mexico we were both exhausted. I wanted once in a lifetime experiences on my trip because it was a once in a lifetime trip for me and quirky motels were a big part of it. Unfortunately, it's hard to find motels that take cats! I found out quickly that "pet friendly" doesn't always include cats. I asked ChatGPT to find me a cool place to stop, and it recommended this motel. I called ahead to make sure they would take my cat.. I spoke to Ramona, she was incredibly kind and accommodating. I wanted to check in early and she was on her way into town, but told me her son could let me into my room and she would take my payment when she got back. I pulled up to the motel and instantly knew I would love it. I stepped out of my car to be greeted by the sound of cicadas for the first time in 30 years. It was perfect. The room was large and comfortable. It was not modern or fancy. If you are looking for modern conveniences, this is not the place for you. It was a very 'homey' atmosphere, quiet and easy to relax in. No vending machines, no ice machines, just a cute little house with a cute little motel behind it. The restaurant next door was closed, but the gas station around the corner has wonderful people working there and pretty decent pizza, plus Ramona does have a fridge and freezer full of food just in case. She also has an assortment of cereals and other breakfast choices so you won't go hungry if the restaurant is closed and you don't want what the gas station serves. There is a game room with books, toys for children, a coffee bar, and water. There is a nice little spot to sit right outside of that to sit and talk, and Ramona is a wonderful person to sit and talk to. I ended up staying an extra day just to decompress and recharge before I went through the rest of Texas into Oklahoma, and I really wouldn't have minded staying longer. Since I did stay an extra day, I did get to experience the breakfast rush at the restaurant next door. It was so packed, you could barely move in there. It is the perfect out of the way spot to stop and experience some old time, long forgotten hospitality."

"Great place to crash for the night! The couple that runs the motel couldn’t have been nicer! The room was very clean, and I love being able to park right outside. The Midpoint Café is right next door as well."

"Okay let me start with the good stuff. The people are really friendly. They seem to be very accommodating. You won't find bottled water, or machines for that at night there. Well the rooms were clean you could tell that it's definitely a much older motel not hotel."
