"I was here for 10 days for medical travel, to support a family member. The Staff here is fabulous. Savionne, Alex, Kim, Cordell, Rashaun, Martha, and the many whose names I didn’t learn—they were so nice and helpful, it was amazing. Breakfast was a buffet, $11 per person, delicious with healthy options. The coffee is full-bodied, not weak, wimpy, or bitter. Great-tasting coffee and teas are available at breakfast time. Later in the day, Alex made fab espressos. Evenings, Savionne made delicious drinks. The room was clean and quiet. The AC will blow you away. Location is great. Many restaurants are within walking distance, but shopping is limited. I walked 1.5 miles to the UChicago Hospital (it was during daylight hours, and in good weather). It’s several blocks to a UGo bus stop. I have requested that the Lyft and Uber apps direct transportation to the hotel entrance on the NW side of the hotel; their apps had the hotel as being on the SE side of the block. Needs: 1. Laundry Facilities: Some A.I. lied. There’s no guest laundry. Also, there’s no nearby laundromat to walk with a load of laundry. Found a great wash and fold service “Rinse;” the fast option is 24 hours. 2. Feasible parking: Parking is about $40/night here and $40/day at UChicago Medicine, making a rental car a bad option for medical travel. 3. Feasible Cost during student events. UChicago is a rich kid school that commences in September. With taxes, the hotel was an astronomic 400 bucks a night. Hyatt Place: thank you for your wonderful staff and clean facilities."
