"Are son was bitten by a tick and got the first case of powassan virus in Illinois we live about 150 miles from Northwestern hospital and he was transferred there due to seizures from the virus we have a small family owned restoration company that we had to step away from to be there with him for the 55 days at the first hospital in the ICU and then for the 40 days at Northwestern so our funds were very limited we would have not been able to fight his illness with him if it wasn't for this place they were so accommodating to our family and our needs this place will always hold a special place in our families heart thank you and God bless"

"Excellent place to stay while you have family in the hospital. The rooms have kitchen areas with fridge, stove and anything you could need. They also have free meals from time to time, free laundry facilities, and they are always leaving little bags of goodies hanging on your door. The staff is excellent pleasant and helpful. If you need a place to while dealing with a sick loved one this is the place for you. 😉😉😉😷🤒🤕"

"For anyone that is undergoing serious medical conditions and or treatment the IMD Guest House is far more than they know. It has an amazingly caring staff and multiple volunteers that make what is usually a rough and exhausting experience a lot better in the eyes of us patients. They are nice rooms that are clean and have plenty of space. But more importantly they are a very nice sense of a home away from home without the feeling of a hotel. The staff is a dedicated and caring group that will assist you in any way they can. And the extra special bonus is the sense of normalcy you get to have. Everyone there is going through something, big or small, terminal or fighting. That allows you to chat and not feel in anyway out of place. The fellow guests are all equals which makes the stay all the more pleasant. They have a lovely community room where different groups will cook some wonderful meals once in a while which is an appreciated break from the norm. You can mingle with other guest freely without any feeling of being out of place. Like some of us feel in our own homes around our own friends. You will in no way regret making the new connections which most likely will end up with the exchange of email addresses. The comfort of a place that's not a hospital room which some of us spend far to much time in. And the pleasant atmosphere makes what is usually a tough experience just a little bit better. I don't care that there are only 5 stars the entire experience is more than a rating can give. The IMD Guest House is definitely a gem among the stones that a lot of us are facing."

"Having this place to stay while our son had a liver transplant was a blessing. We had to be here for 4-6 months and being able to come back and forth with a nice place to stay while having the ability to cook meals was convenient. The people where very nice and helpful. Would gladly recommend the guest house to anyone."
