"Amazing stay at this hotel. Beautiful building and decor. Free welcome amenities and waters. Walking distance to many attractions. If you have a short stay and don’t want to venture out, Boleo and the Italian restaurant will not disappoint. If you do have time so many places to see and visit in the area. The staff will do anything to accommodate you and your pet. The Breakfast is really good. For parking we used SpotHero and parked on Wells street a few blocks away for $63 for the weekend (no in and out privileges)."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton. Every staff member we spoke to was SO warm and welcoming. Our room was large and very comfortable. This hotel has a well-equipped gym and some cozy lounge spaces, including happy hour. We stayed here after a performance at the Lyric Opera, and the location is convenient for just about anywhere in the Loop. Thank you for a lovely Valentine's Day stay."

"Kimpton Gray did not disappoint us. We were welcomed with great reception, smooth check-in, nice scented room. There are great services available for daily social events for free drinks. We were surprised for a complimentary snacks by the manager as well! Location of the hotel is also great for those planning to explore the Chicago downtown, either by walking or with subways. We felt luxury without the price. Highly recommended!"

"We had a great experience staying at this hotel! The hotel and rooms are very clean and well kept. The location felt safe. There is always a doorman at the entrance. The front doors lock at night and require your room key to get in. You also need a key to access the elevators. We were here over the Christmas holiday and the hotel/rooms were always very quiet. I accidentally paid for parking at The Poetry Garage via the garage website when I should have charged it to my hotel room. Malika went out of her way to work with The Poetry Garage to have my charge reversed and billed through the hotel instead. I sincerely appreciate her helping with this! To get the contracted hotel rate, you need to get a validation slip from the hotel front desk. Do not purchase the “hotel parking” package from The Poetry Garage’s website. The garage is a great place to self park if not using hotel valet. It’s extremely clean and felt safe. Their customer service was also great to work with when trying to fix the aforementioned billing issue! They also left a very cute note with sparkling water and Albanese gummy bears in our room upon arrival! :)"

"Checkin at the front desk was adequate. I checked in under the AMEX FHR rate and have IHG Platinum Elite status. My status was recognized but the young lady who checked me in did not explain my FHR benefits at all. I had to return to the front desk to get the standard sheet of FHR benefits after I went up to my room. Room was very shabby and slightly run down. Paint chipping on closet door, rust on shower faucet handle, trash can and recycling bin were tattered and looked gross. Chair was threadbare and the lamp next to the bed would flicker when turning on or off. TV had a dead pixel visible in it and the entire room would dim when the HVAC unit would kick on. Strangely, there was also no lotion at all in the room. Other bath products were fine but no lotion in the dry Chicago air was unbearable. I had to run out and grab some. I booked a King Premium With Walk In Shower and was supposedly upgraded. There was no noticeable upgrade other than being told I was on a higher floor facing the street. I would have expected at minimum a room with a soaking tub since I had the FHR upgrade or the Platinum Elite upgrade. Somewhat disappointed with the service level and room itself at the hotel. Common areas were beautiful and the Kimpton Happy Hour was great. Staff was friendly and bright; other than valet/front door staff. They seemed like they hated life and did not want to be there. It was unbearably cold but not once did they open a door or offer to help me with bags. Breakfast was the highlight at Trattoria. Everyone was amazing and food was delicious. I would stay here again but I would be more discerning about my room. This could be a fantastic property again with some upkeep!"
