The rooms are large, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The staff were courteous and helpful. We had a delicious to-go breakfast from the Turquoise room and great drinks at the bar. We only stayed one night, but I can't wait to come back."

It’s well worth veering off the beaten path to explore this distinctive property. The rooms, public spaces and gardens are incredibly inviting. They have a warm, historic charm and a comfortable, settled feel that makes you want to linger. And there are so many beautiful antiques and art! The dining at The Turquoise Room is a standout experience. The food is excellent, and they have a fantastic wine list to match. We ordered the mole with chicken, the Arizona wild game trio, and the bread pudding; every single dish was superb. We loved the gift shop and bookstore, too. They’re filled with a fantastic variety of artisanal trinkets and unique local finds. We also appreciated that they provide Los Poblanos toiletries in the rooms- the signature lavender scent is such a luxurious and special amenity. What makes this hotel so unique is the sense of history. We saw an exhibit about the Harvey Hotels at a museum in Santa Fe a few years ago, but we didn’t make the connection that The Castañeda Hotel in Las Vegas, NM was a Harvey Hotel until we saw a remarkable painting in La Posada that reminded us of a print we saw in The Castañeda last summer. The owner has a beautiful gallery with her collection curated throughout the hotel; it is very striking, memorable, and adds so much character. Really great hotel!"

The hotel is beautifully furnished with period pieces, Native American art and colorful artwork on the walls. The staff were very efficient and professional. We had a meal and cocktails at the Turquoise Room, and were not disappointed. Check out the Affeldt Mion museum right next to La Posada for more detail on the history of the hotel and to see additional art work. It was worth the visit, and admission is free (donations accepted) We only stayed one night, but look forward to returning soon."
