"Terrific Choice for Long Weekend in Chicago This was a great choice for our long weekend stay. Our king room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained by housekeeping during each night of our stay. The gym was 24-hours and well stocked. The staff was consistently very friendly and proactively helpful, including the manager, the front desk team, and the restaurant team & bartender. (One exception would be one of the front desk staff.) The hotel is located right on Michigan Avenue to the south of the Loop. The walk to the lakefront and to Grant Park is beautiful. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the Loop, which we enjoyed every day. The Red Line (subway) is very convenient."

"The experience was nothing short of amazing I would like to give special recognition to staff member Markel C. & Kiera front desk employees they were very helpful and so kind with assisting me with any issue I had, not that there were many but I did have one issue with a staff at the restaurant name ‘ Brad or Brat’ gave off rude very rude tone and made me feel like me checking on my daughters breakfast order was bothering him like I was unwelcome, other then that it was a refreshing to be welcomed in and treated with kindness and even the security guard can’t remember his name but he had hazel eyes lol very kind and helpful. The room was very nice clean and up to date, has bed lights, portal charger, bluetooth mirror and a beautiful bathroom interior, thank you Le Méridien Essex for giving me such welcoming experience I will be back!"

"Great location and was able to get a decent priced room. I love that the room felt so clean— great linen, no carpet so they are actually properly cleaning the floors etc. The vouchers for the restaurant are also a nice incentive. Free water bottles that you could grab at anytime which was really helpful. What I didn’t like was the shower— there wasn’t a shower curtain and it only had a very short glass barrier. Every time I’d take a shower the entire floor was soaked. It didn’t matter if I got right up under the water or only showered for 5min. It’s just not functional. Also, front desk staff were rude and unfriendly. I’m glad I just had a short stay…"

"Hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. Restaurant staff went above and beyond after a long day working. The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to the bathroom design in the room. There was no counter space and it was so difficult to wash my face due to a wood board partially covering the sink. This resulted in water everywhere. Otherwise, this hotel is very walkable to downtown and a variety of nice restaurants in the area. I was going to a convention at McCormick Place and it was very convenient."
