You can tell he really cares about making sure everyone feels welcome. The atmosphere was great, relaxed but lively, and the whole place was spotless. Definitely one of the best bartending experiences I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend stopping by and asking for Navarre!"

"The people at this Moxy are probably the nicest, most friendly staff I have ever encountered. The rooms are minimalist but functional. The bed was very comfortable. Despite being in the middle of downtown Springfield, there were no noise issues. I will absolutely stay here again when we return to Springfield."

"🏩Moxy Springfield Downtown – A Playful Stay in the Heart of Springfield, MO We stayed three nights / four days at Moxy Springfield Downtown as part of Missouri State University’s Homecoming weekend. Between weekend events, alumni gatherings, and just wanting a fun, central base, this hotel hit a lot of the right notes. Location & Building: Moxy Springfield is housed in the historic Medical Arts Building (built 1930) in downtown Springfield.  Its downtown location couldn’t be more convenient — walkable to MSU’s campus, local shops, and restaurants.  Perks & Amenities: • There’s on-site parking and an electric vehicle charging station.  • The rooftop bar, Eyrie, is incredible — perfect spot for a sunset view, event, or just relaxing.  • The hotel is very social and modern: check-in happens at Bar Moxy, which also doubles as a lounge.  • There’s a 24/7 grab-and-go market in the lobby for quick bites.  • A modern fitness center is available, which was great for working out during the stay.  • For small events or meetings, there’s a basement room / meeting space (part of “The Subterranean” concept).  Rooms & Experience: • Because it’s in an older building, rooms are compact. We liked our room, but I wouldn’t want to stay much longer than 3 nights — not a ton of extra space. • As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, room upgrades were limited (mostly to higher floors), but we did receive a comp drink “poker chip” at check-in which was a fun touch. • The service was genuinely great — staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome, especially for MSU alumni events. ✅ Pros • Prime downtown location — ideal for campus, events, and local tourism • Stylish, playful design consistent with the Moxy brand • Rooftop bar with a great atmosphere and views • EV charging + modern amenities (fitness, meeting space) • Lively communal areas for working, socializing, or relaxing ⚠️ Cons • Rooms are small — not ideal for a long stay if you need more space • Limited room upgrade options for loyalty members • On very busy event weekends, the social spaces (and elevator) can feel crowded • Wish that the rooftop bar, Eyrie, opens till midnight on weekends (we were there till closing at 10 pm on both nights) 💡 Pro Tips for Visitors / Alumni • Book early during big campus weekends (like Homecoming) — this spot fills up fast. • Use your complimentary drink token at check-in; head up to the rooftop bar for a sunset pour. • Bring a small carry bag if you plan to bring event swag — rooms are compact. • Use the ground-floor grab-and-go market for quick snacks so you don’t have to rely on room service. • If you want a quieter room, ask for a higher floor when booking. 🤩Staying at Moxy Springfield Downtown felt like being in the moment: part boutique hotel, part social hub, part home base for alumni magic. It’s not ultra-luxury, but it’s exactly the fun, energetic, and slightly quirky hotel you want when you’re in town for a celebration or just enjoying downtown Springfield. Highly recommended for MSU alumni, downtown explorers, or anyone wanting a place with heart, history, and a killer rooftop. 🐻"

"Enjoyed our stay. Room had a Swedish minimalist vibe with all the basics. There's a "stash closet" with other items you might need. Staff was great!! You check in at the bar, which was interesting. Good food selection. Nice social areas. Rooftop bar has a great view of the downtown."

"This hotel is very cool! I LOVE the vibe! However, it’s got some quirks. My room layout is very space efficient, unique and super cute but there are no chairs at all in my room and the beds are head to head instead of side by side so you can only get into the bed on one side. Not a big deal but something one might need to know. Especially if you are sharing a bed. There are no microwaves or refrigerators so keep that in mind. I think my big hang up is that there are no coffee makers in the rooms. I need room coffee to get me to the lobby coffee so this was a bit of a shock. I know, first world problems. But I feel you need to know so you can pack your lobby appropriate pajamas. I would also recommend figuring out the stairs early on because you’ll grow gray hair waiting on the elevators. All of these are just quirks. One negative that I feel you should know before booking. The west side sits directly on a main drag. My room is on the west side facing the main drag. It is currently 1:30 am and the traffic noise from modified exhausts and motorcycles has been quite loud on both Friday and Saturday nights. I’m wearing sleep headphones and they aren’t helping in the least. This is NOT the hotel’s fault. And the hotel does provide free earplugs. But if you are a light sleeper like me this is a big deal. On the positive side the burgers are fantastic, the huge windows in the street level bar that open to the sidewalk are super cool. The roof top bar is very nice with a great view and a big city atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and the Bloody Marys are delicious and consistent. Hands down the most unique hotel I’ve stayed at. If you are looking for a fantastic experience in a unique hotel, look no further. If you are a light sleeper, plan accordingly."
