It's obvious that the owners take pride in the property, landscaping is nice, area is very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only ding I give them is that the USB chargers in the nightstands don't work. I'd stay here again."

Clean rooms comfortable bed. They even cook breakfast for you while you have some coffee. The owners are very kind and caring of your particular need! They welcome your pets too!"

The blackout curtains are so effective you cannot tell what time it is. My husband and kids appreciate this because they sleep in. Free breakfast. They have fruit juice, cappuccino, and coffee; four types of cereal; slices of bread and bagels; quick oatmeal; yogurt; and will make fresh waffles and/or eggs. Very affordable, especially when traveling with kids. Other things we like: having a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Towel animal (need I say more). It's also pretty conveniently located. The couple who run the place are both very friendly and helpful. This isn't a high-end hotel by any means but the most important aspects of a good place to stay (clean, convenient, and cost) make this our go to place to stay whenever we are in Barstow."

Even though it is a pet friendly hotel, there is not evidence that a bunch of pets have been in the rooms before you. They do a very good job clean between guests. The owner has two very sweet dogs on property but you don't hear them and you would hardly know they're there if you didn't see them in their cute little winter sweaters, wagging their tails to greet you in such a well-behaved manner! And, access to the highway is right there but the noise is not part of your stay. We would definitely stay again in another cross country journey"

The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. A note about the fridge and microwave: they are unplugged/turned off to save resources (kudos for that!), so if you'll need those items let them know ahead of time so they can plug them in for you in time for the fridge to get cold. Nikki is gracious and hospitable and knows the area well. We conversed with her and some guests about local places. Breakfast is enough- waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit &juice, bread items, yogurt, cereal and good coffee. There is a small tip jar so look for that, and throw in a bills to bless them. Being on the main drag, and an older, renovated hotel, you may hear some traffic, but it wasn't very noticeable, even on a Saturday night! The street was basically empty. Music- it's a small town, so not much going on. The Pit Bar and Grill is right down the road about a mile by Walmart and is a local respectable establishment with reasonably priced beers and cocktails , and generous potions of appetizers and food. They had a local band, Red Rabbit, who were awesome! The vibe was welcoming and fun, staff was attentive, and the band introduced themselves to us at break, noticing we were out of towners. There are regulars who use this hotel as a midway point between destintions, so that says a lot! Keeping this place on my list! Thank you, Nikki, for hosting us!"
