The neighborhood location is great, convenient to the train, walkable to some great food and bev and shops, and unique for Chicago. I had a standard room and it was very functional but not the highlight of the experience. The staff is very friendly. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the well-designed lobby, reading, and watching the hotel activity on a Sunday night. Whoever organized the music playlist did an amazing job incorporating Holiday-themed songs into an eclectic and atmospheric playlist. Rooms – 4 stars, Service – 5 stars, Lobby vibes – 5 stars, Playlist curator – 5+ stars"

There were many excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance and the metro station was only a few blocks away. The hotel desk staff was friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Edson for all of his recommendations. The coffee shop attached to the lobby had the most delicious breads and pastries made by Bad Butter. Although we did not have the time to see a movie, there is a wonderful outdoor movie theater on the roof where people were snuggled under blankets watching scary movies in honor of Halloween."

The bad- attention to detail from housekeeping (they took my 2nd room key card off the desk on day 2 of 4 day stay during daily service and what was done each day was completely different); the lighting in the room borders on ridiculous; the outside patio music blaring until late while there is snow on the ground and it is -2 with the wind chill, the street noise is really loud at night, the cold draft from the window made it necessary to keep the drapes closed all the time, the minimalist styling goes a bit overboard for my personal tastes as I have seen IKEA store displays with better options!"

The team was really helpful in getting us a few extra chairs for my hair and makeup team, and sent up some complimentary sparkling wine and a cheese plate for us as well. The one thing I will say is they’re very odd about not allowing photos to be taken, so my husband and I had to leave the hotel to have our first look even though there were clearly some spaces not open/being used - they wanted us to pay for a buyout to take photos. Our guests also enjoyed staying here and the location is super convenient to great dining options."
