"Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Myra, who made me feel like a welcomed guest and not simply another customer to check in. She’s friendly and quite the resource of knowledge regarding the mansions history and the history of Springfield in general. My room was an exciting mix of history and modern amenities (mini fridge, coffee bar, toiletries) and the bed was comfortable (I was SO thankful to have a soft quilt and not the suffocating comforter hotels use!). My only regrets are that my single night stay was too short to enjoy the room during daytime hours, I didn’t have time to explore the property, and I didn’t have more time to visit with Myra. I will be returning with my family for a longer stay, and highly recommend The Mansion at Elfindale for your next Springfield visit!"

"My daughter and I found this place on a Route 66 road trip! We were so happy to stay here! Three stories of gorgeous rooms to explore. We were the only people staying in that night, so we were a little jumpy from watching The Shining! A very large, gracious home, fun to stay in and explore! Each room is a suite with its own bathroom, mini fridge, and coffee service. The king size bed was a dream with the softest sheets I've ever slept on. It was a sad thing to leave the next day. I only gave it 4 stars for rooms because there were some dead flies and bugs in the bath and windows. 3-stars for service because there was no ice we could find in the whole house, and no breakfast, not even a granola bar and a piece of fruit! Odd for a bed & breakfast. But we will come back as it was a luxury bed with terrific linens and priced comparably to local chain hotels that have NO ambiance or history! Terrific stay!"

"What a pleasant surprise! Booked on a whim while planning and overnight in Springfield visiting family. This will be our Springfield place to stay of choice! Very friendly staff and such interesting history and decor throughout. We had to scoot extra early, so missed out on breakfast. Next time, I am sure it’s delicious! The only complaint is while our bed was super comfortable, we both slept like babies in the Jon O’day room. The actual bed frame was ridiculously flimsy and cheap and nosy to boot. Other rooms had much better, solid bed frames. I was literally considering buying one and shipping it to them, as I know we’ll be back many times. But, that’s just crazy."
