The hotel’s prime location with easy access to shopping, dining, and city sights made it a perfect home base for our family getaway. A special thank you to Agnes at the front desk, whose thoughtful service made our stay seamless from start to finish. We were traveling as two families and hoped to be placed right next to each other. Agnes handled this with such care and ease, ensuring our rooms were ideally situated. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail immediately set the tone for our entire weekend. Throughout our stay, every interaction felt genuinely warm and attentive. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the views of the city are stunning, and the service reflects the highest standards of hospitality. This was a truly lovely weekend experience, elevated by exceptional people and thoughtful service. We look forward to returning and would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Chicago to anyone seeking a refined and welcoming stay in the heart of the city."

The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking — truly one of those rare moments where the photos don’t even do it justice. The food was delectable, beautifully presented, and felt like a full experience while we dined. And the location? Chef’s kiss. It was perfectly walkable to all the shops we wanted to hit, which made our girls’ trip feel seamless and luxurious from start to finish. Elegant, comfortable, and memorable in every way. ✨🛎️🥂"

Once you figure out that it is the 12th floor, from then you are in good hands. The check in process, the staff explaining the amenities, the room, the bar, everything was impeccable. The view of the lake from the rooms was lovely. Location is prime and it is so convenient to walk to Michigan Ave for prime shopping or even the mall that is connected to the hotel property. The bartender Mel took great care of us. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended."

Writing this review from the perspective of someone that worked in a AAA Five Diamond hotel for three years. On the positive side, the location is excellent and check-in was very smooth and efficient. Valet staff were friendly, and there’s a convenient nearby garage with in-and-out privileges for around $50/night via SpotHero, which was a great alternative to valet. The room layout worked well for us—especially the double vanity—and my partner really liked the overall design. We also had a TV issue that was resolved promptly, which we appreciated. The lobby is also very beautifully decorated for the holiday season which a great touch. That said, for a luxury property—particularly for a honeymoon—there were a few missed opportunities. There wasn’t much sense of personalization or surprise: no name recognition, no proactive gestures, and no discussion of potential upgrades (even paid ones) from either the concierge or front desk. When champagne was mentioned, it wasn’t clear whether it was complimentary, which led to some awkward uncertainty. The staff on the phone often sounded curt, and we tried calling the spa multiple times without anyone answering. From a room perspective, the lack of a bathtub was disappointing, and the shower water pressure wasn’t great—especially since only one shower head can be used at a time, which makes it less ideal for two people. The shower door also didn't close fully due to poor engineering. The TV system also doesn’t allow casting from a phone, which feels outdated for this price point. Our view was fairly basic, and we did notice some noise issues, including creaking from the room above and sound carrying between rooms. Lastly, the toilet paper is...single ply and there are no bidets which both feel a little cheap for luxury property. Overall, the hotel is comfortable and extremely well located, but it didn’t fully deliver the elevated, thoughtful touches we associate with a luxury stay—especially for a special occasion like a honeymoon. With a bit more warmth, personalization, and attention to detail, this could be a much stronger experience."
