"Outstanding. We booked three nights over Thanksgiving and it was affordable and painless. Check in was a breeze. The room was perfect. DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO BE A HOTEL ROOM because it is not. This is an affordable hostel in a historic Chicago house in the Northalsted neighborhood. It was warm. The bed is comfy. It was quiet. The coffee is good. Neighbors were neighborly. The bathroom in our room was surprisingly huge. You will be right across the street from Hydrate, down the road from Roscoe’s (if you want to pay a $10 cover to pay for $10 beers) and Sidetrack. The red line train is right up on Addison, about a half mile walk. $2.50 gets you the gambit of the entire city. We ended up having a great mini-vacation in beautiful Chicago. We hope to be back this summer again!"

"We came to Chicago to watch our son play football at Wrigley Stadium. The Villa was the perfect place to stay to walk to the stadium. What a neat neighborhood. Our room was just right and the the breakfast was perfect. I liked that we had a private sink in our room that helped being that you share a bathroom with other guests which was not a problem. There is an unloading zone so check in went good. Our only hiccup was it took a while to find a parking spot but, that being said we finally found a spot only two blocks away so that was a score."

"I absolutely loved my stay here! I stayed in the Neo-classical room by myself during Halloween, and the room still managed to be very private and quiet in spite of how busy everything was outside that night, which really impressed me after having a night out enjoying myself in the neighborhood. There is a lot of things to do nearby and public transportation is pretty accessible and within walking distance. The bed was an absolute dream to sleep in. It would probably be a little cramped for a couple, but it was perfect for just one person. There was coffee and tea outside and everything was incredibly cute and well decorated. Checking in and out was incredibly simple and straightforward and I had no issues at all! I’d love to come back again sometime the next time I’m back in Chicago."

"First of all the garden entrance, SO COOL! The had it all decked out with Halloween decor including a giant skeleton. My experience was so wonderful! I’d definitely book again! Check-in/Check-out was so easy, and the staff offered clear instructions. The mansion IS very old as mentioned in the booking, but you could tell it’s been given a lot of love. It’s so charming! With it being that old, it makes sense that some things may need fixing or may be difficult to fix. I was a bit nervous booking a room solo with a door to the outside, but I felt very safe. I also worried of being cold with the Fall weather but a radiator heater was provided that made the space so cozy. The bed was also very comfy and the sheets were so soft and luxurious! The place was also SO CLEAN and everything I needed was provided. I only stayed one night, and didn’t want to leave! There’s also quiet hours, so I didn’t run into anyone and it was very quiet. It was also really fun to meet others in the morning, and everyone seemed friendly. There were several breakfast items offered in the morning including waffles with fresh blueberries. The only difficulty is parking, but that’s Chicago for you—parking permits are provided by the host, but there are several spots in the area that people rent out through SpotHero. I just parked for $10 a short 4min walk away. I’d love to book again and check out the other rooms! It gives Alice in Wonderland, and I’m here for it!!! If you can appreciate a unique place with lots of character and maybe some minor quirky imperfections, you’ll love it!!!"

"Located in the heart of North HALSTED with easy walk to many restaurants and bars. The Villa Toscana has an old world feel with unique touches. Varied delicious breakfast choices. Quiet even though in the heart of the city. Great place to stay that is very different than the run of the mill hotel chains. An authentic city experience. Parking stickers provided and looking for street parking added to the experience. We will stay here again!!"
