2 months ago"We took our kids and Grandkids to Williams to take the "Polar Express" train to see Santa and The North Pole on Dec 16th 2025. We all live in The Valley in Tempe and Gilbert Arizona. I booked 5 rooms On-line for everyone. We are use to staying at 5 star resorts so we kept our expectations at the correct level. We had stayed at "The Grand Canyon Hotel" in the past and it was nothing special... especially for the price they get. I went on-line to search for alternatives and found this Travelodge by Wyndham. I read the reviews and yes it had it's share of complaints, but for the cost of 5 rooms I was willing to take a chance. We were NOT Disappointed! The Hotel was older and probably listed as a Motel back in the day, however, the rooms were large and very clean. It had had a remodel or 2 over the years and was certainly as maintained as should be expected for a Hotel that is older than most. It smelled fresh from the moment we walked in the front door. The proprietors were very friendly and and looked forward to helping us in any way they could. Continental Breakfast was nothing special... Typical Waffles and Yogurt setup. What made it nice was the Attendant that made sure the Tables were clean and cleared as soon as a guest left. She also made sure nothing ran out! I have to give the Mattresses a 2.5 out of 5 as they weren't the most comfortable... maybe the next remodel you can upgrade to the next level. If you are coming in from another State or country to visit the Grand Canyon, make sure you spend a day or two in Williams Arizona. Plenty to see and do in this "Wild West" town. Take the train to The Canyon, Visit Bearazona! This area is a beautiful place to visit, especially if you think Arizona is nothing but Desert! If you go there and expect The Four Seasons or Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, you'll do just fine at this Hotel and save yourself a bunch of money. Safe, Friendly, and Walkable to everywhere. 4 minutes walk to Train."
