It’s Chicago, so high prices are expected, but despite the expectations, the value proposition still isn't great. The Space: They recently got rid of the original Peacock Alley, which was a disappointment. The replacement lounge is fine for a quiet moment, but it lacks the grand atmosphere you expect from a Waldorf. The Room: I had a high-floor corner room. It was spacious, clean, and cozy; as expected for a Waldorf. Similar vibe as a standard Ritz-Carlton. Dining: We enjoyed our meals at Brass Tack, and while the ambiance was nice, the experience was fairly standard—nothing stood out as exceptional. Wellness & Spa: The spa is the only real standout feature. As a wellness traveler, I value a good facility, and this was one of the better ones I’ve seen in a US city hotel. The Lululemon collaboration is a nice touch, and I bought a pair of pants as a souvenir."

From the moment we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the valet team, who were friendly, welcoming, and efficient, setting the tone right away. At the front desk, Anais was truly exceptional. She provided all the information we needed with professionalism and warmth, and her attention to detail did not go unnoticed. She even took the time to handwrite a thank you note, which was a thoughtful and personal touch that speaks volumes about the level of service at this property. Guirremo, part of the valet team, also stood out by driving us in the hotel’s house car, an incredible amenity that made getting around the area seamless and enjoyable. Our junior suite was impeccably clean and beautifully prepared prior to our arrival. While we did not catch the name of the housekeeper, the care and attention put into the room were immediately apparent. The room itself was excellent, modern, comfortable, and well updated. I am honestly surprised by any reviews suggesting the hotel feels dated, as that was certainly not our experience. We enjoyed a cocktail at Bernard’s and breakfast at Brass Tack. Both experiences were excellent, with attentive service and outstanding food. The quality and variety of the offerings exceeded expectations. Overall, this was a fantastic stay marked by exceptional service, thoughtful amenities, and a high standard of hospitality throughout. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chicago."

I stayed here to celebrate a work achievement and from the moment I walked in the door, the staff was incredible. DeAndre at the front desk was the most memorable check in experience I’ve ever had (and I travel 2+ weeks/month for work and stay at comparable luxury hotels.) Every time I passed the front desk, he remembered me and was so wonderful. I also met the GM, Tamas, who showed me around the hotel when he noticed I was there for the first time. I don’t have anything remotely close to a complaint about my stay. The room, the restaurant, the service, the doormen outside, were all flawless. I’m very sad to be checking out today! I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before on a hotel but I wanted to acknowledge this experience. I can’t wait to return again soon!"

We were there celebrating my birthday and Hubs worked with the staff to pull of a surprise gift card to the Spa that was waiting when we got back from dinner (along with a bottle of champagne on ice). For a December visit the fireplace was essential and oh, so cozy. The one bedroom suite had the perfect amount of room, particularly the room wet bar (alcohol must be paid for). I ordered a pot of coffee for room service delivery and it arrived promptly with very polite staff. The bathroom and that soaking tub. The Spa. Where I swear every single person told me Happy Birthday. A fantastic massage, hot tub, and a relaxing room that was, well…so so relaxing. The hotel also has a car available that will take you where you want to go within a mile radius (just call Concierge). Oh and Concierge also gave us a fantastic lunch recommendation while we were out shopping. Hubs and I wished we had planned for another night we were enjoying it so much. We are already planning an anniversary trip. 😃"
