The stone shelter adds charm and a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. Definitely worth stopping by, especially just before sunset."

a year ago"Nice overlook of the Meramec Valley and well worth the 99-step climb. I love these old examples of 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps construction. Also close by (about a 2/10 mile walk) is the Red Cedar Inn Museum with a good history of the town of Pacific and Route 66. I had no idea Pacific had been so important to Missouri growth."

2 years ago"This was a cool overlook. Saw an old employer’s mine site! Many good memories returned to me. This brief but less stressful stop was very valuable to me. The surrounding area is so cool to view! Great sights and sounds! When passing through Missouri on Route 66 and you make it to Pacific, you MUST stop at Jensen’s Point Overlook!"

a year ago"All around a great park, if a bit small. Visited a few years ago, and it's had improvements! Amenities: - Practically brand new bathroom and water fountain (as of October 2024). The ground is still covered in straw to help the grass grow back around it. - Three picnic tables with trash cans near the parking lot, another near the overlook with a few benches, too. - A decent sized field near the parking lot. Not big enough for a football game, but plenty of space for a game of catch or kids playing tag. - A nice short trail up to the overlook, using rock as steps. If you're easily winded, you can make it with some effort. As for wheelchairs... There's a gravel road for vehicles, but it's quite steep so use discretion. - The overlook itself. Excellent view of the surrounding forested hills and a river/stream below with a railroad alongside it. Worth noting: The entrance is very "Blink and you'll miss it" and I wish there was a shoulder and center turning lane for people coming either direction down the road. Hardly the park's fault, but worth noting. The adjacent property behind the overlook is some kind of industrial lot. Nicer than I remember last time, but I still found it distracting."
