"Old Chain of Rocks Bridge Parking at Chain of Rocks Rd is a convenient and practical place to park if you’re planning to visit the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge and the surrounding walking or biking trails. The parking area is easy to access, with enough spaces for most visitors, and it sits right by the historic bridge entrance so you don’t have a long walk to start your visit. The bridge itself is interesting to explore, especially if you enjoy unusual views of the Mississippi River and historic engineering. The area feels peaceful and open, great for a casual walk, bike ride, or photos. One downside is that amenities like restrooms or shade are limited, so plan accordingly. Tip: Bring water and comfortable shoes if you’re walking across the bridge—it’s long and exposed to the sun."

"This is a great walk whether going as a couple or a family or friends. The bridge goes out over the Mississippi and provides great views down river to St Louis. I recommend parking on the Illinois side of the river and walking out through the nature area on the bridge. The round trip walk is just over 2 miles and has a very gentle grade."

"Awesome views of the the river and the intake towers. Came down for an even that allowed us to drive over the bridge. It's a great place to walk with your family and lots of spots for photos. The Missouri side has been redone and it's very nice."

"Stopped here on a whim. Was on a road trip and wanted to see more of Route 66. We only went partway across the bridge due to the heat but if it had been cooler we would have gone across and back. Beautiful views of the Mississippi and downtown St Louis."
