"When Route 66 was being built in the mid 1920's after the workers left for the day a turkey wandered onto the wet concrete. Left 35 tracks that are still visible 100 years later. It's a fun place to stop on Route 66. Your GPS may not lead you to the right spot. Ours was off about a mile. The spot is marked with a sign."

"When the original alignment of Route 66 was being paved, a turkey decided to cross the road on the freshly poured concrete. His feet marks are still visible today on this very well preserved stretch of road. It's a nice and curious attraction that's interesting to see if you are travelling on the historic Route 66."
