Wildlife West Nature Park

"This place is incredible! They have an impressive array of animals and birds, and the staff is very friendly. My favorite part of this place is that you can tell the staff actually care about the animals - and that the animals genuinely seem to enjoy seeing humans. I felt great supporting Wildlife West and their mission. Highly recommended if you want to bolster your trip with a dose of beautiful nature - while contributing to something you can feel good about. Heidi (the wolfdog) will even come give you a howl! 🐺"

"We visited a hidden gem of a zoo in Edgewood, not too far from Albuquerque, and had the best time! The place is surprisingly big, and the animals there are so friendly and well taken care of. It honestly deserves way more visitors — we were the only ones there that day, which made the experience peaceful but also a little sad because this amazing place should be shared and appreciated more. You can really tell the animals are happy and used to people. We had so much fun walking around, taking our time, and getting up close to the animals. It’s such a special spot, perfect for a day trip with family or friends. I truly hope more people find out about this zoo — it’s absolutely worth the visit!"

"We went on a Friday an hour before they closed and it was very empty, but we did get to see a lot of animals. The animals are all native to NM but are not necessarily from NM. I wish the glass in some of the exhibits was cleaner. The staff didn't realize we were still in there and locked up before we could leave! Almost got stuck in there with the animals, haha. Maybe don't go too close to when they close."
