"What a pleasant surprise! We are familiar with the 2 other more popular Vietnamese restaurants in town, but decided to try this little one which at the time of this review has only 15 reviews but all highly rated (which we thought must be skewed reviews from friends and relatives!). Driving there we almost missed the restaurant because the name was a bit different on the restaurant’s sign (Asian Bistro - Star Cuisine). It was spacious inside and we were greeted pleasantly and presented with a colorful menu that featured both Thai (e.g. pad Thai), Lao (papaya salad, thum noodle), and Vietnamese (pho, hu tieu) dishes. That was quite a variety and while ordering pho and Pad thai we were a bit worried and hoped that the foods were not “jack of all trades but master of none” as are often the case with a restaurant featuring mixed cuisines from different ethnicities. Boy we should not have to be worried! Because our pho had that distinctive authentic Vietnamese pho’s aroma and was delicious, and was served with a fresh side dish full of mung bean sprouts and herbs just like it should be. The pho’s beef flanks were meaty and the meatballs were plenty. Our Pad thai was equally flavorful and tasty in its authentic Thai’s way; and the only thing that we missed was some crunchy peanut bits that weren’t there. We were stoked to find this little restaurant gem serving authentic southeast asian fares in Amarillo out of all places. Our waitress was a little young lady and she was especially courteous and professional. We felt especially welcomed, and along with the great food experience, we will make sure to visit this family kitchen whenever we will be near Amarillo even if it means having to make a detour."

"Very tasty. I finished my plate. The spice levels are hot medium and mild. I tried mild but needed to add a little Sriracha to add some spice. Next time I'll get medium. Its a little difficult to find because the sign for the tax place."

"Delicious Asian food in town. They have plenty of menus like Pho, Stir fry Thai food like Pad Kee Mao, and also Lao menu. I really like the flavor from the Pad Kee Mao. Although the place does not look newly renovated, food was delicious and the server was friendly."

"Me and the wife ate there for lunch today. It was our first time there. For appetizers, we had the spring rolls. For our meals, she had the pork chop, and I had the large pho. All I can say is wow, what GREAT tasting food! Everything we had! Will be one of our top go too asian restaurants. Also, the staff was very nice and attentive with us, and everyone else, and with a big smile. Great place."
