"I had the absolute pleasure of coordinating a private baby shower at My Momma’s House, and let me just say—Gwen and Chris truly outdid themselves. With only five weeks’ notice and me planning from out of state for 50 guests, they helped bring everything together flawlessly. We curated the perfect brunch menu—chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, and fruit cups. And let’s not forget the mimosa bar with a wide variety of fun add-ins! The vibe was straight-up luxury brunch meets down-home comfort. Originally, my daughter-in-law (the mom-to-be) had cravings that weren’t on the catering menu, and Gwen went above and beyond to help us build a custom menu that honored her needs without sacrificing flavor or quality. It was the perfect balance between treating our guests and honoring the honoree. Now, I’ll admit—I had to see what the regular menu was about too, so a few days before the event, I popped in to try the catfish, mac & cheese, greens, and yams. Let me tell you… I thought my momma could cook, but this was on a whole other level. The food was beyond excellent—rich, flavorful, comforting, and made with serious love. The atmosphere was full of good energy, the staff made us feel like family, and Mika the bartender? A whole vibe! I ended up staying an extra 6 hours after the baby shower just to soak it all in. I was so blown away I asked them to come to Houston to cater my daughter’s wedding. If you didn’t know, My Momma’s House is the best—and if you still don’t know… now you know. Ain’t nobody messing with Momma in the kitchen. Period!"

"I ordered a simple salad. Went to use the restroom, went to pick up my food the waitress told me they gave me a lil extra I thanked her real quick before I left. It wasn't til I was a cpl blocks away before I noticed they gave me cheesecake, and a bowl of tuna salad!!! I had a rough day so that was a very nice surprise. Thank you very much..."

"We came here tonight for Thanksgiving. I didn’t know what to expect but this lady can cook! All the staff were so nice and attentive, and the woman who made all the food from scratch was so passionate and you can tell she loves it! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!"

"I can’t stop coming back. Every dish I’ve tried has been spectacular, from the short ribs to the oxtails to the meatloaf. The mac and cheese tastes truly homemade, the kind that instantly brings comfort. The drinks are priced just right, making it easy to enjoy a full experience without feeling overcharged. This place consistently delivers, and in my opinion, it’s the best soul food spot in the U.S."

"Got food after the club and oh my god. The seafood platter was amazing. It had fried catfish and shrimp with collard greens and Mac n cheese. Bruh.. everything was so flavorful and synergized together. 10/10 and would come again. The server was so nice and welcoming."
