"Stopped in as we were traveling through based on reviews we read. Great choice. The bbq was off the hook good! I had pork ribs, pulled pork and chicken thighs with baked mac and cheese and green beans. My guy had pork ribs, brisket and sausage with green beans and slaw. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Service was super friendly and very attentive. Plenty of parking too which was great for us as we were in a uhaul pulling a trailer."

"Traveling through Elk City, we found this barbecue place among the top recommendations around the area. We discovered for ourselves why it’s a local favorite. Both littles wanted cheese burgers, one with fries, and one with a side salad. Both were a hit and they enjoyed their choices. Mrs. Flip Out and I both tried the 2 meat combo. She chose the sausage and brisket with onion rings and green beans. I had the ribs and sausage with fries and baked beans. All of the meats were phenomenal: tender, juicy, and delicious. Mrs. Flip Out, who takes barbecue more seriously than I do, greatly loved it. The sweet tea came in a mason jar and added to the experience. Poppy’s was great and we think you will enjoy it, too!"

"Before we travel for the next stop which is about 2 hours away… we will have LUNCH first. Cute little place… when we entered it is full of people. We ordered rib eye steak and grilled pork chops. Wow… the rib eye was so good as well as the french fries and mac and cheese Highly recommended… when passing Elk city The staff were phenomenal."

"Our meal was very good, handcut fries were great. Onion rings were very good. Brisket, pulled pork, sausage and bacon sandwich was very good!! Burger was also tasty. Added to review: If you haven't tried the Catfish it is very good!! Best handcut fries around !! Love the new location!."

"Brisket was very tender, not much smoke flavor for a bbq item. Chicken thighs were amazing. Pulled pork was decent, wasn't impressed with the flavor but others at the table loved it. Probably just my preference. Mac and cheese was the best I have had."
