"Always a delicious delight in Joplin! This was my third visit to the Red Onion. While in downtown, there's a large, free parking lot just beside the restaurant. I was kindly greeted by staff and my party was seated in a section with a wonderfully kind lady serving. Sadly I didn't write down her name, but inviting, considerate service was delivered, and she brought our food just as we ordered it. My friend preferred the Food For Life section of the menu which is designated as low carb, keto-friendly and gluten-free. They also featured a small seasonal menu with Fall favorites. We started with an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms. While I don't commonly eat mushrooms, they were very flavorful with a savory blend of bacon, onion, and a wealth of cheese. I also drink my water with no ice and our server kept my fresh-tasting water refilled remembering not to include ice. My friend enjoyed the Ensenada Chicken which she described as having a nice grilled flavor and a mild bite with the Chipotle sauce. She also appreciated the fresh sliced avocado! I also enjoyed avocado, with mine being on the Chipotle Avocado Craft Burger. I asked for it medium-rare which is exactly how it was served. So nice! I ws surprised the burger was mild on spice, but it delivered a vibrant experience with the avocado, crisp onion, pickle, lettuce and tomato. The seasoned fries were also very enjoyable! After appetizer and meal, I had to decline dessert, but I enjoyed looking in the case and remembered to take a picture of it. Grand experience having lunch at the Red Onion Cafe. Wonderful place to meet for conversation with friends or dine alone on tasty items. Very clean restaurant and restrooms. Convenient free parking next door. The Red Onion in Joplin delivers a variety of delicious food choices in an enjoyable environment. Come experience it yourself."

"I wish I could’ve gotten a picture of their Christmas stuff, it was so nice! The vibe of this place is great! They have smooth music in the background and is PERFECT for a fancier date night for couples! Staff are beyond friendly and are quick to willing to serve you! I have been here before and loved their soup, and STILL love it just as much, if not more! I also never realized how good their chicken was here, it was cooked to perfection with great seasonings. Overall I wouldn’t come here too often due to the price, but would highly recommend for the occasional visit!"

"First time here, and admittedly I came entirely for the Italian Cream Cake...which they no longer have apparently. Otherwise, good food, good service and appropriate pricing for the quality and quantity you receive. Very bummed about the cake but would certainly still eat here again."

"This was such a surprise! What an elegant and eclectic location. It's located in a historic building with tons of character. I felt like I stepped back in time to the 50's. The employees are happy and at every table there were quiet conversations with tinkling laughter. Don't go here if you are in a hurry, it's a place to slow down and breathe for a minute. The food was cooked and made to perfection. My gluten-free wife enjoyed a delicious steak and had no issues. I believe that you'll be pleasantly surprised as well."

"This place is nothing short of WONDERFUL! The food was fantastic, service was great, atmosphere was outstanding. I had the LOVE ME TENDER and it was truly a spectacular sandwich. Wifey had the bacon and potato soup and house salad which she loved. LOOKING TO RETURN SOON. THANK YOU JEREMY FOR MAKING OUR EVENING BETTER!"
