The chefs are extremely talented and full of knowledge, explaining the why and not only the how behind every technique. The people are fun and I love how the whole class gets to sit together and enjoy the food you’ve cooked. Highly recommend going for a girls night!"

Seeing the process on how those delectable treats are made, gave a greater appreciation each time I wolf one down. Clemence was a great instructor, patient with newbies, explaining things simply & gracefully. I thought creating the unique fillings would be the most daunting task, but they came out great. Located on the 3rd floor of Santa Monica Place, the classes at The Gourmandise School are the perfect opportunity for those intimidated by pastry-making & cooking. I had an absolute blast, and recommend everyone scheduling a future class at The Gourmandise School."

The meat, poultry, fish and vegetables and fruits provided are all of excellent quality from the local Farmers Markets and Santa Monica Seafood. It is easy and inexpensive to park in Santa Monica place ($5 for 3 hours) and feels easy and safe to get to and from your car. In Cooking 101 with Chef May we met once a week for 4 weeks. We covered Knife Skills, Poultry, Meat, Fish. Chef May is a wonderful instructor, smart, funny, calm, professional, organized. The other students were pleasant, it was easy working side by side. We all had our own space and burner, we made our own dishes from our own allocated ingredients. The set up was 4 people per large island bench. I looked forward to class each week and to seeing my classmates and the instructor. My 9yo has taken 3 different Parent and Child classes at this school, accompanied by our retired neighbor, and they have a great time, learning a lot of real cooking skills (including knife skills). They have brought home a full Italian lunch (including olive oil cake) and a delicious Chinese meal (really good dumplings). I will be signing up for more classes."
