"My Chilean sea bass was awesome!! The table bread with cheese and butter divine. The dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives were very tasty. My friends steak unfortunately underwhelming full of fat."

"Everything was really fun. I really enjoyed it. The food was great. They did not have Jazz going on the night we were there but I bet that really escalates the atmosphere. I would definitely suggest this place to other people."

"Tortoise Club is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I come here every time I visit. Everything is always amazing, but I especially recommend the Beef Wellington. Very few restaurants offer Beef Wellington nowadays, so it is always a treat to see. Tortoise Club makes one of the best I've had! I also recommend visiting in October to try the succulent Pheasant Pie. If Fall was served on a plate, this would be it! For dessert, the items are again all amazing, but the cherry pie definitely takes the cake. For some reason, it is extremely hard to find a good rendition of cherry pie. Usually, the filling is overly sweet, or there are barely any cherries (rather a ton of syrup). Worse yet, sometimes restaurants put too much corn starch into the filling turning it into a congealed mess. The Tortoise Club, however, makes the PERFECT cherry pie. The cherries are bright and tart, the filling is mostly all cherries (very little syrup), yet the filling is still soft rather than congealed. Simply the best piece of pie I've had in recent memory. Moving on to the bar... They do not get cheap on the liquor in their house cocktails. They use top shelf liquors. The South Side cocktail had zero 'piney' taste from the gin. It was clearly a really high quality gin. The presentation was incredible, too. The bartenders also went out of their way to make a Chicago Fizz for me. Which is one of the drinks made famous in Chicago during the Prohibition era. It was not on the menu, but they made me an absolutely wonderful one. If you're lucky enough to dine here when they have live music, spend 30min at the bar before your reservation and savor the live jazz. Finally, the atmosphere of the Tortoise Club, combined with the unique and wonderful food, is what sets it apart from other Chicago establishments. It feels glamorous, yet approachable at the same time. Which is also reflected in the prices. It's not cheap by any means, but for the money, and considering the portions and experience, it is a much better value than many others in Chicago. Give it a try! Now, I need to figure out when my next trip to Chicago will be someone I can come back!"

"This area nearby houses the corn cob condos and Legal Seafood w water views, they have live music on Friday and Saturday. Parking is only on the street and valet $16 up to 3 hours. We tried the expresso which was good. The cherry pie w ice cream was not good but the ice cream was good…and helped the taste. The crust was good and very thick for those who like thick crusts. But the part I did not like at all was the artificially colored and gelatin like filling along w the whole sweetened and preserved cherries. It was gooey and tasteless and the texture was weird. The really nice and romantic and the lady is nice and dark for your date especially on Valentine’s Day.."
