Promenade Street

"As a thriller and romance author, I always enjoy visiting places with energy and character, and Third Street Promenade is one of the most lively shopping streets in Southern California. The promenade has a great carnival-style atmosphere with street performers, music, and a steady flow of people walking between the many shops and restaurants. The pedestrian-only layout makes it easy to stroll along and explore everything the area has to offer. There’s a wide mix of stores, from major retailers to smaller specialty shops. During my visit I also stopped by the Barnes & Noble along the promenade, which is a fantastic bookstore and a great place to browse while taking a break from the crowds. The whole area leads naturally toward the Santa Monica Pier, so it’s easy to combine shopping, dining, and sightseeing all in one walk. Overall it’s a fun and energetic place to spend time while visiting Santa Monica."
