3 months ago"Unfortunately we made it with only 30 minutes before close so we didn't get to see everything. We did get to walk through the exhibit and the gifts shop where we bought probably more than we should but not everything we wanted. It turns out we were over time but no one said anything or rushed us out and when we apologized profusely they were all so kind and said they were happy we stopped by. Proud to be Cherokee!!"

3 months ago"This visitor center was a nice surprise on our trip down to Tahlequah. We saw advertisement for it on I-44 and pulled off to check it out. The main exhibit focuses on Cherokee Nation treasure Anna Mitchell. However, exhibits feature other Cherokee artists, information on the history of Vinita, and a really great exhibit on the Cherokee Freedmen. The visitor center also has a nice gift shop. All of the staff were friendly and Carrie even showed us around the visitor center a bit, which was really helpful. It was definitely a stop worth making. Be sure to stop in the bathroom to see the handmade sinks!"

3 months ago"This was a really nice stop. The museum was laid out well with interesting narratives, articles and descriptions of a proud and resilient people. Also, the gift shop is great with good prices, and the staff is friendly and helpful."

3 years ago"Great place to learn a unique bit of Cherokee Tribal history! The gift shop has a nice selection of options, featuring Oklahoman, tribal and Route 66 related stuff. The staff is super friendly and helpful, too. I didn’t get anything from the cafe, but they have a small selection of food options available too."
