"Informative and helpful staff! Be mindful that they may close midday for a lunch break, depending on staffing availability. Went on a Monday afternoon and they were open, revisited after my Whitney Summit on a Wednesday at noon (and they were closed). Still, a wonderful spot to swing by, plenty of updated info posted on the exterior of the building for anybody hiking in the vicinity!"

"The Eastern Sierra Interagency Visitor Center in Lone Pine is an absolute must-stop for anyone exploring this region. It truly serves as the ultimate gateway to Death Valley, Mt. Whitney, and the Inyo National Forest. The facility is top-notch and incredibly well-maintained. Whether you need to pick up wilderness permits, grab detailed topographic maps, or browse their great selection of books and unique souvenirs, they have it all. Plus, the restrooms are consistently clean, which is a huge win for travelers on long desert stretches. ​What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The rangers and volunteers possess immeasurable knowledge about the local terrain, weather conditions, and history. Their service is excellent—they take the time to ensure you’re prepared and safe for your adventure, no matter your experience level. ​Don't miss the stunning view of Mt. Whitney right from the windows! Highly recommend stopping here before you head into the backcountry or the park"

"This place is conveniently located at the entrance to the Alabama Hills National Scenic Area/Whitney Mountain portal. The staff were very friendly, and the restrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the restroom heater was also working. The parking lot was spacious and almost empty. The view of Whitney Mountain from the parking lot was spectacular."

"Perfect place to stop and take a rest on your trip to the area. Clean restrooms and plenty of parking. Helpful staff whom provided information and maps on our trip to Alabama Hills. Was also able to fill up our water jugs for our camping trip. There's a spigot behind a stone wall on pathway to visitor centor."
