Lathrop Rest Area Southbound

"Someone dumped this poor lab at the rest area I gave it water. I would have taken it with me. Couldn't because my van was full with product and he wouldn't let me get to close. I am seeing this a lot at rest areas."

"Aside from the staff that decided to clean the restroom before it was blocked off or clearly marked, this was a really cool little rest area. I know it might sound weird, but it really was a rather tranquil place to stretch the ol' legs a bit. The cast concrete shelters outdoors where a cool bit of engineering / architecture, and the grounds were clean. The vending machines kind of sucked, but if you're seriously stopping at a rest area for the express purpose of a broad and fresh selection of food and drink to exchange your unwanted quarters for, you might need to seriously rearrange your life priorities."

"This is a nice rest stop between Cameron and Kansas City. There are multiple bathroom stalls that are clean. Outside there are several covered tables for a picnic or snack. There are vending machines with drinks and snacks if needed. It is a nice spot to stretch out, walk around and breath some fresh air after being in the car hours."
